Slow City (Cittaslow), is a concept that respects the history of the city, its cultural and natural heritage and aim to leave it to future generations. Historical, cultural and natural assets are also important in terms of sustainable rural tourism. The county of Eğirdir reached to Slow City status in 2017 thanks to its natural, historical and cultural values. It is considered that this situation will contribute significantly to rural development. The study is qualitative research, interview technique and literature review have been used together in this study. In accordance with this primary and secondary datas have been used as data collection technigue. Semi-structured question form have been used as data collection technique form primary source and it has been interviewed with the mayor of the district. In secondary data, it has been evaluated by literature review. In accordance with this, firstly the philosophy of the Slow City movement and sustainable rural tourism potantial in Eğiridir district have been examined. Besides, the datas obtained from primary sources have been transferred descriptively. In the last part of the study, suggestions presented for possible problems that will occur because the county of Eğirdir is a Slow City.
