The disadvantages created by inflation are generally seen in income distribution, saving rate, foreign trade and the use allocation of resources. There is a very factorial relationship between energy prices and inflation is seen in the literature. The oil shocks period experienced in the 1970s have been the most intensely observed relationship. Although shocks observed nowadays are not as sharp as in the 1970s, it can be said that the links mentioned in the literature are still effective for foreign-dependent countries, especially for energy. It is predicted that the decline in oil prices experienced in international markets in In this framework, the relationship between inflation and energy prices in the post-2000 period in Turkey will be examined. Turkey’s being an important location in terms of energy conduit as well as its being foreign-dependent country are the main factors in determining this research topic. The determination of the direct and indirect effects of energy prices on inflation in Turkey, which has struggled with inflation for many years and continues this struggle, is also important in terms of combating inflation. In this framework, the relationship between energy prices and consumer prices will be examined.
