The usage of individual credit and credit card is seen getting wider in the global environment where economic changes taking place in our country and world. This situation is a factor which increases both individual and household’s level of debt. Decreasing debt level has a great importance for both diminishing financial problems via increasing consumers’ financial satisfaction and becoming economic system sustainably. For this reason, the main purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between demographic, socioeconomic factors and the level of individual debt.
The data of the study were obtained Çankaya, Keçiören and Mamak districts of Ankara, vis face to face interviews with 300 individuals. According to research results, when age, number of children, family size, income, number of credit card and credit card limit increase, the level of individual debt is also increases.
