Abstract


Lumina Magazine and its Effects on Nationalisme Movements

After the French Relovution (1789) the liberal nationalism movements that started to be influential all over the world put the empires in jeopardy and reviewed. Those movements also naturally militated and impressed the Ottomans. Aromen minorities settled in Balkans that benefited from some franchises and for ages remanined true to Ottoman authority, caused avery pivotal moment in nationalisme movements. After Aromens recoginsed as “nation” in 1905, for the first time in Balkans history they published a periodical called as “public bulletin”. This bulletin, named as “Lumina” is considered most oldest one among world minority prints. On the other hand “Lumina” also was the most long term published bulletin in Ottomans. In this study the issues of bulletin Lumina in its publihing life time 1903-1908 are perused on the basis of content analysis. On the frame of nationalist liberal movements Aromen minority’s struggles through out press and publication activities about to maintain and preserve their ethic, linguistic and religious properties is as a phenomenon tried to be expressed.
